Synopsis: Marie-Line Maupain, who has been a spy for the French secret services for thirty years, is abruptly placed on standby by her superiors. She becomes a ‘sleeper agent’ in her home region, the Cantal, where she is supposed to keep a low profile. Accustomed to danger and the unexpected, Marie-Line must resign herself to a normal life and accept the prospect of starting afresh in this remote corner of the country. But her spy instincts quickly take over, especially when she runs into an old acquaintance, Bruno Lafon, who has become a gendarmerie captain. No sooner has she returned to the farm of her childhood than Marie-Line begins investigating Lafon’s affairs without any authorisation. With methods as different as they are complementary, they soon form a formidable duo.
