Certification process
To obtain the Ecoprod label, applicants must complete the Ecoprod assessment grid, describe the measures taken to meet the various criteria, and be able to provide evidence of these measures. These elements will be audited by AFNOR Certification.

A four-stage certification process
01. Before filming
APPLICATION FILE
I calculate my green-production score and achieve a score of ≥ 65% (70% for certification with a Commitment phase). I commit to a certified labelling process by applying to AFNOR Certification, the body responsible for independent audits. I choose my labelling scheme (Performance or with a Commitment phase) depending on the nature of my project and my communication needs.
02. During filming
ASSESSMENT
I complete the assessment grid by describing the actions taken to meet the various criteria and providing supporting documentation. I then submit the completed assessment grid to the auditor. The auditor checks the explanations and supporting documentation for the criteria (during an on-site audit and/or a document review) and produces an initial assessment report (referred to as the “Intermediate Report”).
03. After filming
FINAL REPORT
I complete my application with the final supporting documents relating to the end of the project that could not be submitted earlier (final carbon footprint assessment, post-production documentation, etc.). I submit these final documents to the auditor. The auditor checks them and produces a final assessment report, which they send to Ecoprod for a decision on certification.
04. Awarding the Label
CERTIFICATION AND COMMUNICATION
Following a favourable assessment by Ecoprod, AFNOR Certification issues a certification of green-production compliance to the production, stating its final green-production score, along with the corresponding logo (1, 2 or 3 stars). I can then promote my green-production approach and best practices by displaying my Ecoprod Label (in accordance with the Label’s Communication Guide).
You can qualify for the Ecoprod label before the end of the project thanks to the “Commitment” phase!

The Ecoprod Label with a Commitment Phase
Following an initial audit of your production processes by AFNOR Certification, you will be able to display the “Ecoprod Commitment Label” for a period of one year. During this period, you will need to demonstrate the measures you have put in place in order to obtain the definitive Ecoprod Label (“Performance”).
- This phase is suitable for programmes produced on an ongoing basis (daily series, news programmes, weekly programmes, etc.);
- It can be useful for demonstrating your commitment to green-production to a third party (funding body, broadcaster, financier) before production is complete.
- Contact AFNOR Certification
- Submit your application and the required supporting documents via the AFNOR Certification website
- AFNOR Certification will review your application
- Submission of the completed assessment grid: the production team outlines the actions it undertakes to implement;
- Review of your application for the ‘Commitment’ label by an AFNOR Certification auditor;
- Following approval by Ecoprod, a certificate of Commitment will be issued to the Ecoprod Label;

This initial stage must necessarily be followed by a final certification (“Performance”) involving the scheduling of a more comprehensive verification audit (documentary, on-site, or via video conference, as appropriate).
- The Ecoprod Commitment Label is awarded for a fixed term (one year). At the end of this period, the production must provide evidence of the measures implemented;
- Assessment of your final report based on the degree of consistency between the criteria to which the production has committed and the actual implementation of the measures;
- Documentary or on-site audit based on a sample of criteria;
- Possible request for additional supporting documents;
- Final audit report.
- Upon approval by Ecoprod, receipt of an Ecoprod certification certificate stating the score and level achieved;

- Publication on the list of Ecoprod-certified productions;
- I communicate on my initiative (Ecoprod Label’s Communication Guide).
