Certification process
To obtain the Ecoprod label, applicants need to fill out the Ecoprod reference framework, outline the actions the have taken, and provide supporting evidence
A four-stage certification process
01. Before shooting
APPLICATION FORM
I calculate my green score and obtain a score ≥ 65%. Contact Afnor Certification to sign up for a certified label. I choose my certification scheme according to the type of project.
02. During filming
EVALUATION
I complete the reference grid and submit it to the auditor. The evidence for each criterion is then reviewed, either on-site or through documentation, resulting in an initial assessment report.
03. After the shoot
FINAL REPORT
I finalize the repository by providing the required completion evidence (such as the final carbon footprint, post-production documentation, etc.). The auditor then prepares a final evaluation report.
04. Earning the Label
CERTIFICATION AND COMMUNICATION
Based on Ecoprod’s positive evaluation, Afnor Certification issues a certificate displaying the achieved score along with the Label logo. With my production now certified, I can proudly share my commitment and showcase my best practices!
How do I get the Ecoprod Label?
- Contact AFNOR Certification
- I submit my application and the required attachments on the AFNOR Certification website.
- AFNOR Certification examines the admissibility of my application
- At the end of the production period, I send the completed reference grid and the mandatory supporting documents to AFNOR Certification.
- Afnor Certification carries out the audit, on site or according to documents, on a sample of criteria
- Additional supporting documents may be required
- The auditor drafts an interim audit report
- At the end of my project, I submit the reference grid with the last supporting documents (final carbon footprint, post-production proofs, etc.).
- The auditor drafts the final assessment report, which is sent to Ecoprod for validation.
- Ecoprod validates audit report
- Afnor Certification issues an Ecoprod certification certificate specifying the level of certification obtained.

Looking to showcase your certification in progress?
Opt for certification with a commitment phase! After an initial audit of your production by AFNORCertification, you can display the “Ecoprod Commitment Seal” for one year. Once this period has elapsed, you’ll need to complete the audit and justify the actions taken to obtain the definitive Ecoprod label.
- For a work produced on a continuous basis (daily series, JT, weekly…)
- To justify your eco-production approach to a third party (support fund, broadcaster, financer) before the end of production.

- Submission of application and required attachments on the AFNOR Certification website
- AFNOR Certification examines your application
- Submission of the Completed Reference Grid: The production outlines the actions undertaken to meet the criteria.
- Review by AFNOR Certification Auditor: Your commitment certification request is thoroughly evaluated.
- Issuance of the Ecoprod Commitment Seal: Upon approval by Ecoprod, a certificate recognizing your commitment to the Ecoprod Label is issued.
This first step must be followed by a more complete audit (on site, on documents, or by video, as the case may be) .
- The Ecoprod Commitment Seal is awarded for a limited amount of time. At the end of this period, the producer must provide proofs of the actions taken.
- Evaluate your final report according to the degree of consistency between the criteria to which production is committed and the actual implementation of actions.
- On-site or documentary audit on a sample of criteria

- Audit report
- Under Ecoprod’s approval, issue of an Ecoprod certification certificate showing the score and level obtained.
- Receive your certificate and be added to the list of Ecoprod label holders
