For five years, the organization has awarded the Ecoprod Award, honoring, among the featured films presented at Cannes, across all competitions and selections, the one which stands out through its ambition and its exemplary green production process.
This award proves that it is possible to balance artistic vision and respect for the environment. It offers the opportunity to show the backstage of eco-friendly film productions: decreasing the carbon footprint, waste management, transport optimization, circular set design, etc. Last year, the Award went to the film “Jeunes Mères” by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne.
For the 5th edition of the Ecoprod Award, Ecoprod and WWF France join forces to promote eco-friendly initiatives at the Cannes Film Festival and honor the commitment of industry professionals.
“Regarding the alarming ecological state, cinema has a determining role to play. It can change stories—thus transforming reality. With Ecoprod, we wish to make every single film a vector of ecological commitment, for nature and all living being.” Alexandra Palt, WWF France’s Chairwoman
