One year after the launch of the Green Animation Guide, the Annecy Film Festival and MIFA will serve as a platform to showcase the ongoing sustainability initiatives driving meaningful change in the animation industry!
Launch of the ANiMPACT Pilot Phase
Two years of mobilisation, over 110 organisations engaged, 30 countries represented: the ANiMPACT Standards enter their pilot phase with strong and broad industry backing.
ANiMPACT is an international initiative led by CineRegio, Ecoprod and Green Film. Its objective is to establish a coherent, credible and internationally recognised framework for sustainable production in animation.
The standards were developed over two years through a multi-stakeholder process involving sustainability experts, animation studios, producers, public institutions and funding bodies.

After a public consultation phase from March to May 2026 that helped collect feedback on the ANiMPACT standards and refine the criteria, the initiative now launches its next phase: a pilot phase during which the standards will be tested and adjusted. ANiMPACT is seeking animation productions willing to test the standards in real conditions. Pilot projects will implement selected measures, provide feedback, and directly shape the final framework. Participating productions will be publicly recognised as ANiMPACT beta testers. Eligible projects must be completed, or at an advanced stage of production, by June 2027.
Productions interested in joining are invited to meet the team at MIFA in Annecy, or to reach out by email. Upon expression of interest, participants will be asked to complete an application questionnaire, sign the Beta testing engagement document, and will then receive the full criteria and audit guidelines.
